ABOUT POLLY

Polly Jiacovelli is a certified Dr. Vodder M.L.D./C.D.T Therapist

A licensed massage therapist in New York and Rhode Island since 1988, Polly began lymphedema training in New York in the early 1990s.

She had the privilege to train with Dr. Robert Lerner and Guenter Klose who established one of the nation’s first lymphedema clinics – Lymphedema Services in New York City. At this unique clinic they practiced the gold standard care for lymphedema, Complete Decongestive Therapy or CDT. Patients were treated with Manual Lymph Drainage, compression therapy, remedial exercises and skin care. Patients were seen twice a day, five days a week for an average of four weeks. Polly worked with Dr. Lerner and Guenter Klose for six years before starting her own private practice in 1997.

She became interested in the beauty industry and worked performing massage and Manual Lymph Drainage for Frédéric Fekkai at Beauté de Provence. At this time she continued her private practice in New York City and worked with plastic surgery patients under Dr. Michelle Copeland. While working with Dr. Copeland, Polly treated a variety of pre and post-surgical patients.

Interested in pursuing more Manual Lymph Drainage training, she became certified with the original Dr. Vodder School where she continues to expand her knowledge with advanced training and recertification every two years.

The Dr. Vodder School is presided over by the esteemed professor Hildegard Wittlinger who was entrusted to carry on this amazing technique by Dr. Emil Vodder himself. Professor Whittlinger along with Robert Harris and a select group of teachers have carried on and advanced this technique to treat more than 60 different conditions.
